Teachers
"Thank you for working to integrate what you do with the DCPS standards and for working to provide PLUs or credit for teachers. I have enjoyed the events and professional development trainings I've attended and it's helping my school to become more environmentally conscious." --Anonymous teacher, DC Public Schools
What does DCEEC do for Teachers? DCEEC connects D.C. teachers with the vast environmental education opportunities available to them and their students.
DCEEC Members are organizations that work individually with D.C. teachers to provide:
- Environmental expertise from EE professionals;
- Educator workshops and special events;
- Interactive, hands-on classroom and field studies;
- Social networking events with peers also teaching EE;
- EE digests via listserv;
- Standards-aligned classroom curricula and resources; and
- Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs).
Does DCEEC provide funding?
DCEEC members will work on a case by case basis to provide the necessary funding to get your students (and you!) engaged in environmental education. In addition, stipends are often provided to teachers participating in professional development training.
